Stress at work, stress at home, too many things to do and not enough hours in the day. How often have you gone to bed really needing a good night’s sleep and can’t get one? Everyone knows that sleep is important for energy the next day, but it is actually much more important than that. In addition to rest, this is the time that we recover physically, rebuild cells and replace essential mineral stores.
One cannot turn on a television, pick up a magazine or go online without being bombarded by ads for sleep aids. Most, if not all of these, are man made from synthetic materials and chemicals. And, if you listen carefully, most have some very serious side effects. I don’t know about you, but I have no desire to “drive or eat while asleep with no memory for the event” or “become dependant” on these powerful drugs.
Nature offers a number of remedies that have a profound effect on the quality of one’s sleep. Melatonin, which we produce in the brain can be found in a number of natural sleep supplements. Valerian Root, Hops, Camomile and Ginseng all have been shown to promote a good night’s rest. For stronger results and the added benefit of anxiety relief, some of our customers have chosen GABA and Phenibut.
So which is the best product to promote a restful and recuperative sleep? We recommend products that blend a number of the natural ingredients listed above. Certainly, each person’s system will react differently so trying more than one blend may lead you to what is right for you. To view and purchase these natural products, go to www.dealsinbulk.com

Think Before You Grab That Energy Drink
You’ve been at work all day, you’ve taken care of your kids, you’ve already done so much and you’re tired. But you need that evening workout. Most people have been conditioned to grab one of those sugary, caffeine laden energy drinks that come in more colors than exist in a kaleidoscope? Don’t do it.
Sure you may get that sugar and caffeine rush you need to get started, but it wears off pretty quickly. Do you grab one of those fat, carbohydrate and sugar filled energy bars? Not unless you want those calories to end up as body fat.
The surest and best way to get the best result and build lean muscle mass is to look to nature, not the soft drink and candy manufacturers. The most effective energy boosting supplements are those that are neurostimulators and metabolic activators. Substances that have thermogenic properties and stimulate oxygen flow to the muscles offer the very best and longest lasting results.
So what are nature’s best energy sources? Green tea has been shown to provide a long lasting energy boost and has a number of additional beneficial effects including weight loss and immune system stimulation. Hoodia, the ancient African herb, has a strong energy enhancing component while also helping to curb that post workout hunger.
Both Guarana and Carnatine have been shown in numerous studies to stimulate the electron transport system which is at the core of the body’s energy supply.
So instead of pouring that chartreuse, caffeinated bottle of sugar down your gullet or grabbing a five dollar glorified Snickers Bar, look to Mother Nature, not Sugar Daddy.

How Do I Test My Body Fat?
One of the key goals of any fitness program is the loss of body fat as a percentage of one’s total weight. Now it is clear that a certain percentage of body fat is necessary or “essential” for proper health. For men a body fat percentage of 2 to 4 percent is considered essential while with women, 10 to 12 percent is necessary for proper health and body function. Acceptable body fat ratios for men are 18 to 25 percent while with women it is 25 to 31 percent. Any measurement above these ranges is considered obese.
Athletes, bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts usually seek percentages closer to the essential range versus the “acceptable” ratios. As with all health and fitness programs, one needs to set goals that are both realistic as well as beneficial. Losing too much body fat can have negative health consequences as serious as being obese.
So how do you test and calculate your body fat? The most widely used technique is the skin fold test which is done with a calibrating tool testing skin folds in 3, 4 or 7 distinct sites on the body. The measurements, which are done in millimeters, are then entered into a formula which is contingent on body weight. The most widely used and, in our opinion the most accurate, is the Jackson-Pollack Formula. Measurements are taken using the measuring tool in the following areas:
Chest
Scapula
Axilla
Triceps
Waist
Hip
Thigh
These measurements are then entered into a formula that will calculate body fat percentage based on one’s weight. As with anything related to health and fitness, it is important to have the best available equipment. We have found that Accufitness makes a number of high quality products to accurately gauge weight, heart rate, body fat and other calculations essential to your fitness program.

Ginkgo Biloba: Thousands of Years of Healing
Ginkgo Biloba is another of the natural herbal extract believed to have nootropic or cognitive enhancement properties in humans. Gingko, along with aniracetam, piracetam, phenibut and others have been tested extensively with mixed and sometimes inconclusive results. However, the desired benefits make Ginkgo and the other nootropics very popular with many segments of the population.
Ginkgo trees have been growing in China and other locations for thousands of years and there have been documented cases of trees living as long as 3,000 years. The seeds of the Ginkgo are considered a delicacy in Chinese cuisine but it is the leaves that are desired as an herbal health supplement. The extracts from these leaves are found in both powder for and, more commonly, in caplet form. It has also been used as an ingredient in some skin cleansers.
Studies have indicated that use of Ginkgo increases cerebral circulation and promotes a feeling of well being. Alertness, memory, and improved concentration are also benefits linked to supplementation with this product. Patients with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s and vertigo have also been shown to have benefited from this herb.
Our experience also indicates that athletes seek Ginkgo for its ability to prevent cellular destruction from heavy workouts and to increase blood flow during those activities.
But the most desired affects sought by our customers has been the anti-aging effects of extracts from the Ginkgo. Think about it, the tree almost screams longevity. It lives for thousands of years, is nearly completely resistant to disease and cannot be destroyed by insects or pests. In fact, three Gingko trees managed to survive the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima while nearly every other form of life was destroyed.
